Veneers are thin, white shell-like covers bonded to your teeth. There are two types available, direct and indirect.
Direct veneers are created ‘in-house’ and we use tooth-coloured composite materials and bond them to your teeth. This is a more affordable option but has a shorter life span than indirect veneers.
Indirect veneers are made in a laboratory from porcelain and as such are longer lasting and very natural looking. These indirect veneers are a very popular choice for a beautiful, long lasting smile that will not stain.
Other reasons to consider veneers are :
- Teeth that are discoloured — either because of root canal treatment; stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride or other causes; or the presence of large resin fillings that have discoloured the tooth
- Teeth that are worn down
- Teeth that are chipped or broken
- Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped (for example, have craters or bulges in them)
- Teeth with gaps between them (to close the space between these teeth)
